Our Story

Founded by Pauline Butchart in 2013,
Goldfinch Care Agency began from her home in
Uppingham, Rutland.

The agency has operated from offices with training facilities in Oakham since 2018.

After a decade, we have become a well-established care company, providing a high quality of care to people throughout England, enabling them to retain their independence and stay in the place they most feel comfortable.

We are passionate about the work we do, always going the extra mile to ensure the person centered care is carried out with compassion and expertise.

Our Philosophy

Goldfinch Care is a small bespoke agency that offers a personalised service.

We will go out of our way to assist you in maintaining your independence, well-being, and lifestyle in the way you are accustomed. We will carefully match a carer to suit your needs.

Our Mission Statement

Goldfinch Care Agency seeks to support older and vulnerable adults by going alongside them and providing them with friendship, practical support and professional care.

Goldfinch Care is an established, nationwide 24-hour Live In Care Agency. We seek to support vulnerable adults by going alongside them and providing them with friendship, practical support, and professional care.

We aim to provide care tuned to your needs in the comfort and familiar surroundings of your own home. We encourage your independence, taking our cue as to how ‘you’ like things done. We respect your choice, enabling you to remain responsible for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

With your input we will establish your care needs, preferences and goals, compiling a comprehensive care plan. Taking into account the type of care required, we will carefully match a suitable carer who will support you.

Goldfinch Carers are carefully screened and references checked in accordance with the CQC strict recruiting process. In-house training is carried out on an annual basis to ensure continual professional development.

Carers are supervised and trained to perform household duties, personal care, and specialist elderly live-in care, including working with dementia, physical disabilities, and palliative situations.

What People Say

Dear P

Thank you so very much for your kind card to the family – you know mother adored you. I was going through a file of hers ‘personal’ and in it were some interesting things, but she had kept a letter you had sent to her ‘The old girl has style.’ She certainly treasured it, and so will I.

absolutely perfect for mum at the stage her illness was at. She quietly cared for her, without being too invasive or controlling for Mum’s independent nature.

Once again, many thanks P, for making it possible for us to keep Mum safe and loved in her own home to the end.

Dear P

I am most grateful to you for providing excellent care for my mother in her final days recently. Firstly, we had A, who was excellent and we got on very well with her and she was very caring and considerate in how she looked after my mother.

Then we had A, who also was excellent and had to deal with things at the end. We liked A very much as well and she could not have done more to make my mother’s final days as comfortable as possible. With your help I am very happy that we managed to achieve what we wanted which was a peaceful and dignified end to my mother’s life on her own terms at home with us all around. It really did make all the difference.

Dear P

I just wanted to thank you for the card that you sent, but most of all to thank you for the wonderful carers you provided us with for Mum.

P was absolutely perfect for Mum at the stage her illness was at. She quietly cared for her, without being too invasive or controlling for Mum’s independent nature. They enjoyed art together, and Pippa played the piano to Mum. She was such a sweet young woman and won all of our affection

Once again, many thanks P, for making it possible for us to keep Mum safe and loved in her own home to the end. With very best wishes

Katie Elliott

Dear P

C called you her ‘marvellous carer’ and we all agree with her. The quiet thoughtful care that you gave to C is much appreciated by us all. We feel so lucky to have found you to help during C’s final week.

Many thanks for your kindness

Dear P

I am grateful to you for your letter and your kind words which I have relayed to G as well. It was a pity that the last few years were so difficult for my mother but I know the time was made more bearable by your involvement in rather difficult circumstances. I appreciate and thank you for your efforts. Sadly, my mother was in many ways a shadow of her former self in her last few years, but I am glad something of her character shone through and gave all of us, including her, bright moments and pleasure.
